Jimi Alexander has been building up a loyal following and tonight sees him fill new venue The Globe full on a cold midweek night in January.
Starting proceedings by playing a handful of songs as a duo with Lucy (cello and sweet harmony vocal) , Jimi took the opportunity to try some new songs on the attentive audience ending the short set with Neil Young’s “Comes a Time”.
After a short break Jimi was joined by the full set of his Satellites including recently added fiddle player Bernard. A storming set of old favourites like “Held in My Arms” and “Wayward Soul” were augmented by crisp new tunes in the form of “Put it in Perspective and “Southern Down”.
Maturing with each gig it won’t be long before Jimi’s brand of Americana reaches further than the confines of chilly South Wales.
